THE VICTORIES OF VENTURI-GAI AND BARUCH-LIANG CLOSE THE 3RD ROUND OF THE ITALIAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP IN MISANO
Victory to Zonzini-Russo in GT3, as Maino-Benucci won GT Cup and Riccardo Pera took the third win of the season in Cayman Cup.
The final two races of the third round of the Italian GT Championship held at the Misano World Circuit saw the victory going to Venturi-Gai (Ferrari 488 GT3) and Baruch-Liang (Lamborghini Huracan).

In Super GT3, the Black Bull Swiss Racing lineup proceeded the Audi R8 LMS of Mapelli-Albuquerque (Audi Sport Italia) and the Lamborghini Huracan of Frassineti-Gattuso (Ombra Racing), while in Super GT Cup, the series reserved to the Lamborghini Huracan SuperTrofeo, Baruch-Liang (Vincenzo Sospiri Racing) proceeded team mates Krenzia-Costa and Tanca-Comi (Raton Racing).

The GT3 classification was led by Zonzini-Russo (Audi R8 LMS ultra-Audi Sport Italia), GT Cup's by Maino-Benucci (Porsche 997- Ebimotors), while the Cayman Cup saw the third win of the season to of Riccardo Pera (Ebimotors).

The championship classifications are currently led by Mapelli-Albuquerque (SGT3), Baccani-Venerosi (GT3), Nicolas Costa (SGT Cup), Benvenuti-Demarchi (GT Cup) and Riccardo Pera (Cayman).

SUPER GT3: Venturi-Gai claimed a very sought after victory. They were hunting for it in race-1, but had to give up due to a puncture in the closing stages. The first stint was run on a very wet circuit which forced the safety car deployment for two laps. Venturi did not push keeping the third position behind Albuquerque and Mancinelli. At the drivers' change, Gai was in the lead proceeding Geri, Frassineti, Agostini and Mapelli, as the latter was given a 30s handicap. The Black Bull Swiss Racing driver has always kept at least 10s advantage on Frassineti and did not have any problems ending first at the flag, leading Mapelli, who took over from Albuquerque, that managed to get past Frassineti at the last corner. Audi Sport Italia's driver recovered from the fifth place where he had fallen due to the time handicap after an excellent stint put in by his team mate and managed to clinch the second place leading Frassineti in the sprint to the line. The driver from Rome took over from Gattuso and then lost a few seconds due to a spin, but then managed to recoup well keeping the second place until a few meters to the flag.
Agostini-Di Folco ended close to the podium after a solid race. They led Bortolotti-Mul, that completed a good recovery race after starting from the pits, and Venturini-Pezzucchi. The top ten was rounded up by the seventh place of Mancinelli-Geri, that managed to put in a stunning first stint, followed by Sini-Mugelli, Bontempelli-Linossi and Cerqui-Comandini.

GT3: Zonzini-Russo claimed the second win of the season and were particularly at ease on this track. The driver from St. Marin has been great in the first stint, fighting on par with the Super GT3 cars and did not have any problems keeping the first position. Russo had to serve a 20s handicap time at the drivers change and this made him lose several positions, but the Audi Sport Italia driver managed to recoup well taking Veronesi first and Leo with four laps to go, crossing the line ahead of the Scuderia Baldini 27 driver and co-equiper Eddy Cheever III, who in turn had put in a great duel for P2 in the first stint with Gagliardini, Valori and Baccani. The latter ended a good race on the podium, together with co-equiper Paolo Venerosi, proceeding Postiglione-Gagliardini, Galassi-Tempesta and the brothers Luca and Nicola Pastorelli. The latter were penalized by some electric problems and by a late pit stop. Monfardini-Valori had to retire during lap 8 due to some problems to the Lamborghini Gallardo run by Cars Engineering.

SUPER GT CUP: The victory of Baruch-Liang has been fair and square and the lineup of the Vincenzo Sospiri Racing team has always kept the first position. After the three laps safety car period due to the rain, Baruch and Zaugg pulled away from the rivals fighting also a couple of battles for the lead. Liang confirmed the lead after the drivers' change and kept a big margin on Comi and the Chinese driver did not have problems closing on top ahead of team mate Costa, who recovered well from P5 held by his co-equiper Krenzia. The third step of the podium went to Tanca-Comi, that managed to fend off Takashi-Desideri, while D'Amico-Zaugg, Magli-Necchi and Galbiati-Sartori followed by quite some margin.

GT CUP: After a lot of bad luck in the five previous races, Maino-Benucci finally obtained the victory in Misano. Benucci, started on pole, was taken by Demarchi first and Sauto then, but after the drivers' change, Maino managed to get the lead back thanks to a good move on Benvenuti. He kept on going winning the race ahead of team mates Carlo and Lino Curti. Ebimotors' drivers proceeded Benvenuti-De Marchi, that were delayed by a contact with Zanardini in the closing stages. The episode was later on penalized with 15s handed to the Duell Race drivers that were relegated to the fourth position ahead of Deodati-Romani.

COPPA CAYMAN: The 16yrs old Riccardo Pera was back to the victory. After dominating the two races of Imola, the Ebimotors driver clinched the victory of Misano's race-2, dominating the race and lapping Mercatali-Cecotto and Bianco De-Castro, that have been good to keep the pace of the Tuscan driver in the first stint. The fourth place went to Iannotta-Piccioli and the fifth to Federico and Matteo Zangari.
