THE ITALIAN GT 2016 CHAMPIONSHIP RESUMING FROM VALLELUNGA WITH 36 CARS ON TRACK
The fifth round of the season will open the final part of the season with all classifications of the Italian championship still open as several lineups are in the fight for the four titles.
The circuit of Vallelunga will see the Italian GT Championship resume from the summer break this coming weekend. The Italian series will kick off its final half of the season with the fifth round that will see 36 cars on track. The title for the four titles is still wide open with several title contenders.

SUPER GT3: The Audi R8 LMS driven by Mapelli-Albuquerque (Audi Sport Italia) is the car to be beaten. Audi Sport Italia's pairing is leading the classification by only five points from the Ferrari 488 GT3 of Venturi-Gai (Black Bull Swisse Racing). Three Lamborghini Huracans follow with a bigger gap to the top: the cars driven by Agostini-Di Folco (Antonelli Motorsport), Bortolotti-Mul (Imperiale Racing) and Frassineti-Gattuso (Ombra Racing) are ready to slide in the title fight though, as the BMW M6 GT3 of Comandini-Cerqui (BMW Team Italia) and the Aston Martin Vantage of Sini-Mugelli (Solaris Motorsport). The circuit near Rome will also see the presence of the Huracan driven by Pezzucchi-Venturini (Imperiale Racing), while Drive Technology Italia will make the British 22 yrs old Sean Walkinshaw made his debut on the Nissan GT-R NISMO shared with Francesca Linossi. A strong protagonist of the past season, Niccolò Schirò will be back to the championship on the Ferrari 488 GT3 run by Easy Race and will share the wheel with Ferdinando Geri.

GT3: Uncertainty characterizes GT3 as six lineups are all within 30 points. After race-2 win in Mugello, the lead of the classification has been taken by Luca and Nicola Pastorelli (Porsche GT3R-Krypton Motorsport) that enjoy a seven points lead on the Ferrari 458 Italia of Leo-Cheever, that come from the splendid victory obtained in race-1 in Tuscany. The Audi R8 LMS of Zonzini-Russo (Audi Sport Italia) follow one point short of the Scuderia Baldini 27 driver, while the Ferrari 458 Italia of Marco Galassi, that in Vallelunga will share driving duties again with Simone Tempesta (Team Malucelli) leads the Porsche GT3R of Venerosi-Baccani (Ebimotors) and the Lamborghini Gallardo of Postiglione-Gagliardini (Imperiale Racing).

SUPER GT CUP: A great spectacle will be put on in Vallelunga by the Lamborghini Huracans SuperTrofeo that enliven class Super GT Cup, the category dominated at the moment by the young Matteo Desideri. Antonelli Motorsport's driver will be at the start alongside co-equiper from Japan Takashi and will have Mantovani-Alessandri, Necchi-Veglia and Ling-Liberati as team mates. D'Amico-Zaugg (Raton Racing) are six points short of the lead after winning Mugello's race-1, while the Brazilian Nicolas Costa (Vincenzo Sospiri Racing) will share the wheel with the Japanese Nemoto. The entry list of the category will be completed by Baruch-Liang (Vincenzo Sospiri Racing), Tanca-Comi (Raton Racing) and Simone Pellegrinelli who will make his debut on the Huracan run by Imperiale Racing.

GT CUP: Classification is quite short also in the category reserved for the single make configuration. The lead is currently held by Benvenuti-Demarchi (Lamborghini Gallardo-Imperiale Racing), that proceed Sauto-Zanardini (Ferrari 458 Italia-Duell Race), Carlo and Lino Curti (Porsche 997-Ebimotors) that are respectively 11 and 22 points adrift. The entry list is completed by the Ferrari 458 Italia of Romani-Deodati (Duell Race) and by the two Porsche 997s of Drive Technology Italia driven by Trentin-Palazzo and by Mugello's race-2 winners Carboni-Durante.

GT 4: The Porsche 997 of Dario Cerati and Giuseppe Ghezzi (Autorlando) will be present also in Vallelunga.

CAYMAN CUP: Riccardo Pera will hunt for his fifth win of the season in Vallelunga. The 16 years old driver of Ebimotors has in fact won four of the six races run so far and he gets to Vallelunga as the favourite for the victory. Mercatali-Cecotto (Dinamic Motorsport), Federico and Matteo Zangari (CVG Motorsport) and Sabino De Castro with co-equiper Gianluigi Piccioli (Ebimotors), will try to challenge his lead.
